Managing Partner

Mr. Elwood has been practicing law in Oregon since 2013. He aggressively represents individuals accused of crimes in Linn and Benton Counties. Mr. Elwood believes that all individuals deserve competent legal representation regardless of their ability to pay. He will work tirelessly to ensure that you receive the best possible outcome .

Prior to his legal career he worked as an engineer in the semiconductor industry and served six years in the United States Navy as a nuclear operator.

When not arguing in a courtroom you can find Mr. Elwood spending time with his wife Carly, umpiring baseball, and playing guitar. Mr. Elwood also serves on the board for the Chesterton Academy of Saint Andrew in Corvallis.

Sophie Dobson

Associate Attorney

Ms. Dobson earned her J.D. from Willamette University School of Law in Salem, Oregon. While in school, she interned with the Appellate Commissioner’s Office at the Court of Appeals. Previously, she worked at Delapoer Kidd, P.D. handling both criminal and civil matters.

Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Dobson is actively involved in her community and is a sitting board member for the Corvallis Caring Place. In her personal time, Ms. Dobson enjoys running, painting, and traveling.

Ms. Dobson is committed to ensuring that every client’s voice is heard, both in her office and in court. She defends the rights of the accused with expertise and respect.

Abigail Chaffee

Paralegal

Ms. Chaffee is a certified paralegal and graduate of Oregon State University. She began her legal career while in college as a legal assistant at the Law Office of Joseph Elwood, where she gained hands-on experience supporting attorneys with case preparation, research, and client communication. After graduating, she became a certified paralegal and continues to build her experience in the legal field. Ms. Chaffee plans to attend law school in the future and hopes to pursue a career in criminal defense.

In her free time, she enjoys staying active and exploring the outdoors. She regularly spends time hiking and running. She also enjoys traveling and experiencing new places whenever she has the opportunity.
